#2816 The Empress steam locomotive

Uploaded: May 02, 2007

Description

Originally built in 1930 in Montreal by Canadian Pacific railway. Last revenue run was on May 26th 1960.

Put back in service after a three year rebuilding program bringing the locomotive to it's original standards.

The train was going through Canmore, Alberta when I took this photo.

Thanks Susan,
It is too bad there are not more Steam Locomotives out there. I was fortunate enough to have seen a flyer advertising when the train would be coming through #4257049
