Great catch, Gary!
Good eye detail,... and the young are an added bonus. #122109

Thanks Bob!

It was quite a day. I took about 120 images over a 45 minute period. I was able to approach within 12 feet at one point, I even had to back off my 400mm lens to fit them in the viewfinder. Thanks again.

Hey Jake! Another one... maybe there are more? Beautiful capture of these loons... a little while back I tried my hand at some mallards, and that was a disaster. (: I'm sure these are even more difficult... congratulations on your finalist!!

Thanks Nancy,

I happened to be on a lake fishing and noticed the amazing light and a pair of loons across the bay. Much to my delight I noticed the baby loons as I approached closer. It took a very quiet trolling motor to move in close enough to capture this image without scaring-off the loons. Thank you for your kind compliments.

Warmest Regards,

Great capture! How I missed them while I was away from home. Pity sound isn't available so that everyone could also hear them. Having lived in Mn most of my life loons are a Mn standard as much as birch trees are. Their call is haunting in quality esp if the fog is rising from the lake. Love your gallery! #2705718
