Osprey Hover

Uploaded: April 21, 2004

f11, 1/250 sec., lens focal length 220mm., 4/20/2004. An Osprey puts on the brakes as she approaches her nest. . The nest of this fish eating raptor in the wild is perched at the top of a pine tree near the Colorado River in Rocky Mountain National Park. The male Osprey helps build the nest. Eggs expected next week, I think. The birds spend the summer near Shadow Mountain Reservoir (where the fish are).
