Love the wave action behind and the light is lovely, as is the moment. Technically I would prefer to see him a little toward the left side of the frame so he has 'more room to play'. The colours are lovely and muted, very nice. #112898

Good call! Looking at other stills from the same series, I recalled that I was flat on the ground about 30 yards away, trying to get the waves to tower over the figure playing in the sand.

So, my thinking was - make it look like the wave is going to roll right up and take him along. My unsuspecting model (my son) is actually quite a distance from the surf, and the tide was going out... But as luck would have it, the soft light and concentration take most of the threat out of the moment! #456840
