Description

F4.5, 1/500, 300mm equivalent, ISO 125, Civil War reenactment, Hernando County, FL
I left the people in the BG because to me it is important to the story. The priest/pastor was praying over the dead while the war raged on all around him.

Great story image, Carol!

The colors, comp and detail are wonderful, excellent work!

Carol, how far is Hernando County from Pompano Beach?

Hi Norm, thanks for taking time to look through my gallery and for your kind comments. I have heard of Pompano Beach but had no clue where it was, so I looked on Yahoo maps, and it says it is 277 miles! I think there would be a shorter way than Yahoo showed, but Hernando County is north of Tampa. It is on the Gulf side. It is about 77 miles to Orlando. Do you live there? Or have a winter house there? I have not made it farther than Orlando yet; I lived in Tallahassee and Jacksonville before when I lived in FL. This is my 2nd time back to the state. #3937586

Hi Carol!

We have a place in Pompano and usually go down for a month.

I keep forgeting that Florida is a big state and it would be like me knowing every city in New York State.

My people on my fathers side come from Pensacola.

Thats great Norm! I bet it is beautiful down there! I used to live in Tallahassee which isn't far from Pensacola and I have a 1st cousin there. If you make it around Orlando or Tampa, you should let me know and maybe we could go shooting! Fort Desoto is a beautiful place but so far from me that I have only been once. It is near St. Petersburg but from here there isn't a good route to get there! #3945288
