I like this photo a lot, but I feel like the figure on the left is a bit distracting, since the main subject of the photo seems to be the boat. Nothing a little cropping can’t take care of. Other than that, OWESOME!

Rock on,

Hi Vasko,
Thanks for your comments, but I have to say that I do not fully agree. The fact is, that I took several pictures, and I have one without this person on it, but it seems somehow empty.
I explain myself: the subject is not only boats. I would almost say: the boats are foreground and the sky is the background, but especially this incredible sky draws the attention.
Figure that the person in the picture is looking up (to the sky), which to my taste enhances this effect.
I'll send in the other picture (w/o the person) for comparison.
Anyway, thanks for your nice words!!
Cheers

Hi,

I really tend to agree with Vasko on this one. I find the figure much to distracting in the photo. Perhaps, if he were in more silhouette than he currently is the photo would be o.k. with him in it.

Cheers,
Glenn

Jan, This is very beautiful, but I have to agree the figure on the left is slightly distracting...but I do have to admit that at first look, I did not even see him. #1192

Thanks Shirley! I think I have to agree will all the comments: this photo on first sight really calls your attention, but a second look at the same photo makes the person on the left a bit distracting.

How did you get the effect with the sky? Is it using the bulb setting? (Because I might be wrong -> the setting where you determine how long to leave the shutter open). Good Job.

No Mike, I do not remember exactly which speed I used, but I suppose 1/60th or so.
The clouds were somehow diffuse because of a very strong wind on the higher altitudes, which caused a moving effect.
It was just incredibly beautiful
