I liked the sort of dramatic center lighting this kaleidoscoped image suggests, as well as the sense
of the background being so far away. Applied Twirl to just the very center.

Love it Christopher! #577740Joan Powell December 26, 2006
Love everything about it , the color is terrific . It would make a great poster . #3741651Chris Budny December 26, 2006
Thank you both. The image started life as a shot of the stem of a martini glass. The stem resembles a column of clear marbles, and I set it in front of my PC monitor, on which I was displaying my image "Light Fountain". So the stem's spherical shapes caused distortion of the streaks of color, and I then started playing around in PSE2. #3742675Cary Rogers December 27, 2006
Another eye-catching, colorful creation, Christopher! Great vibrant colors, interesting shapes and lines! The center "twirl" was a great addition. #3744937Chris Budny December 29, 2006
Thanks, Cary! Running out of things to do with my limited array of PSE filters, however! Don't think I have any more for this month... (what's left of it, anyway!) #3756072Kirsten Kiki Kjaer January 02, 2007

Thanks you, folks! I almost didn't enter this one; had it sitting around for a long time, deliberating over it... when I put the little swirl twist effect in the center, I decided to give it a shot in the contest. #3863492Pat Gamwell January 24, 2007

Congrat Chris on your finalist. :O)Chris Budny January 25, 2007
Thank you, everyone! Funny how this one started out as an attempt to make one kind of image (bands of color distorted through curved glass) and failing that, turned into something else equally interesting! #3866362Nobu Nagase January 25, 2007
Another beautiful art work!Cathy M. Gromball January 25, 2007
