Fading but never forgotten

Uploaded: December 15, 2006

Description

This is a picture of my grandpa, the day after my grandmother passed away. I am used to photographing beautiful landscapes, so it was a bit difficult to try and capture the grief we were feeling, but I tried my best. It breaks my heart to see my grandfather so sad and lost. This is a very special picture to me.

This is a lovely photo. How was your grandpa lit... streetlight, flash...? I'm curious because you have the gorgeous sunset behind him yet he is lit perfectly. I'm jealous too, that Nikon D80 is fabulous but I'm invested in a few Canon lenses. Anyways, great job! I love the photo very much. #3707121

this is very touching, the beauty is not so much in the grief that your grandfather is experiencing but more in the great love he has for his wife. It is also your love for them that is what shines through in this tender, thoughtful image. Its as if God sent a beautiful sunset too - it makes it even more beautiful and so very poignant. Well done and a well deserved win. Like all above, condolences to you and your family. #3924354
