Innocent, until proven guilty

Uploaded: February 27, 2004

Description

f5.6, 1/350 sec., ISO 400, lens focal length 100mm., 2/27/2004, Grand Lake, Colorado. Maggie found a clump of goose feathers on the river shore. (Probably a coyote kill from a previous day.) She felt she had found a great prize, but nevertheless expressed a face of guilt, thinking I might disapprove.

Lovely image of Maggie with her 'find' Richard! Love the profile view of her face, and the colour of her coat - what is her colour, by the way? I gather she is a Retriever? We had a Golden Labrador Retriever many years ago, and he used to love bring 'finds' like that to us too! The only problem was that some his 'finds' were decidedly 'on the nose'!! Anyway, great shot Richard... #101677

Maggie's coat is dark golden. Almost the redness of a Irish setter. Many golden retrienvers in the Colorado mountains are light golden or sort of blonde. Maggie's dark golden color is in the minority. #399886

Thanks for the feedback about Maggie Richard... I did rather think that her coat colour was a little more unusual - but nonetheless beautiful just the same! I agree that the colour does look like the redness of the Irish Setters...

I have just been looking at your photo of Maggie with her 'prize' again Richard... No doubt she has a typical Retriever face and pose, and I can just imagine her with that guilty face when she first showed you what she had found!! I remember it quite clearly with our fellow, Amber, many years ago!

Happy snapping anyway Richard! #403706

I was prompted to check out your gallery from reading a recent discussion, and this one has to be my favorite! My cat did this once, and scared me half to death! Anyhow, I like the angle of her, and the land behind her. Wonderful image! #439222
