Critique Welcome #565269

Beautful colors and focus! I really like this, my one suggestion however; is, the way the legs are cut off, I find kind of distracting. But that's just my 2 cents. #3654577

Rachel,

Thank you. I was trying to get the reflections from the back. I guess I did at the cost of the Flamingo legs. I don't know the rule of Where to crop animals? If you know please help!!! lol.

I want to get better so critique helps lots!!!

Thanks again
Shawn

I am not an expert at cropping animals, and I do love the reflection for this too!
I guess I might have tried this with either a little of the leg showing. Or set the bird off center and cropped out part of the bird as well. My gut feeling is setting the bird in the right corner, so emphasise is on the neck and color reflection.
But that is simply an opinion. And this is still a beautifully colored shot : ) #3658479

The warm reflections on the water are nice, but the importance of the legs particularly on this species is paramount.

The cold reflections near the bird's body are a nice complement to the main subject. If you want to keep those reflections on the upper portion of the picture, you should try a lower angle but that isn't always possible.
