Engulfed in Morning Lightning

Uploaded: November 22, 2006

Here is another one of my many lightning photos. This one was so close and so bright striking just over a block away from my house. ISO 100, f13, 5 seconds, taken on 6/21/06 at 5:50a.m.

Thanks, No I was far enough away to just FEEL the effects. Being on my patio under the eves drop to cover me from the rain that early in the a.m. I admit I was wide awake after that strike. Photos like this one are what keep me striving to capture more. It may not be the best image but the experience was surreal. To be that close to a power that strong is a real adrennalin rush. I do have to stress that saftey comes first when shooting weather this violent though. Lightning is one of my favorite subjects now and every storm that comes thru I set my gear to capture a few images. #3617764

Paul thank you for the link very helpful! So in kind, I will help you! I have found two errors in you writing. "but at least your tracking it and you know how to incrementally back up your settings as is moves closer." and "Don’t forget to be safe and not take changes when out in a thunderstorm" is in the first quote should be it. and in the second quote changes should be chances . #3623967

thanks for catching those errors. I sure there are more grammer ones as well. #3625580
