A Mukilteo Evening
Uploaded: November 13, 2006
In 1792 Capt. George Vancouver, who was commisioned by the British to survey the Pacific Northwest, landed at this point, now known as the town of Mukilteo. It was originally named 'Rose Point', due to all the wild roses that were growing here when they arrived in May.
The lighthouse itself was built in 1906. Today, it is just a small, fenced off park, with a little gift shop.
Avoiding other photographers and chain link fences are one of the challenges of getting a shot at this place. I used a new technique on this photo that I've never used before, but I tried to keep it natural, so hopefully you shouldn't be able to notice. Let's see if anyone can guess what technique I used...
Thanks go out to Wilson Tsoi for the inspiration on this.

This is a WOW shot, Darien!! My kind of image. Did you use the Orton technique on this? This has got to win something! #3591068Darien D. Chin November 15, 2006
Thank you. What is the Orton technique? I'll have to look into it. I used the HDR tool in CS2 to merge 2 different exposures together(1 for darks and 1 for mids). #3591810Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
