A good photographer doesn't need to brag about their work...and in case you haven't heard...EVERYONE that enters a photo to the IAP/ISP is a finalist. #434871

That was an uncalled for remark, John.
This is a beautiful photo, and Karen has every right to be proud of it.

Thanks everyone for your very nice comments, even John's not so nice comment. What I have learned along the way to being a good photographer and artist, is that not everyone will like your work nor agree with what you say or do. Everyone has the right to feel & think the way they do. Everyone also has the right to promote/brag/show off/etc their work. For if we didn't, there would be many galleries that would not hold showings, book publishers that would not produce books, book stores that would never hold book signings, talk shows that would not have as many guests, less magazines on the news stands, less websites on the internet and less shows on tv, just to name a few ways that people self promote (aka "bragging") themselves.

I sat in a conference today held by George Lepp, well known and respected "good" photographer. Those words left by John kept running through my head, "a good photographer doesn't need to brag about their work." I looked at the stage and as our host, Mr. Lepp, was talking and flipping through his brilliant pictures on the overhead, I also began to pan the room and notice that it was stuffed with books of pictures and instructional books, once again written by our host, and all I good think was, "a good photographer doesn't need to brag about his work?" And to think I paid to listen to this guy brag about his work? I then go home and log into BetterPhoto and see the Instructors brag about their work and share their knowledge to us other good photographers who also must be bragging about their work with their personal websites?

Yes, I did brag about my work because yes, I am a good photographer, a good artist and a good person who can recognize and appreciate others who share the same.
