I have visited this place, but didn't realize I could ascend to the top. Thank you for this info. I will do this next visit.

The entrance to the cupola is on the extreme right gate as you face St. Pete's. It took me an hour of standing in line and five Euros for an elevator that takes you about halfway up. I think there are 230 stairs to climb after the elevator. It's well worth doing! #9269
