Hi Kevin. I used a single desk reading lamp. The one that you can twist and bend so can get the rainbow effect from the CD. That's the only source (light) I used to get solid black and make sure your CD is new (no scratches & dust). If you're using digital, don't forget to adjust your white balance to get natural look.
