They Came From The Sky

Uploaded: October 10, 2006

Description

I told a group of about fifty angry Seagulls that I have no desire for Seagull egg omelette. They doubted my word, and tried to drive me away from a piece of bushland on the river.(no doubt there are spring fertile eggs in their nests). They were happy when I was just a dot on the horizon, and of course,we are all still friends.Swan River,Western Australia. 9Oct,2006. 10.23AM.

Thanks Marijana,Rahmadiyanto, and Kate for your nice comments.Just today I decided to walk the same stretch and I saw a couple of young bub Gull`s right behind the rock and bush they were protecting in this pic.It was real good to see. #3447619

Very funny! I have a friend who is terrified of birds. I think I'll show this to her. Alfred Hitchcock would be proud. #4480162

Martie these gulls were very serious,in fact I have never seen them like that before.Yes I think of Hitchcock`s movie as well, when I am occasionally swooped by flocks of birds.Since this pic I was similarly swooped by a flock of about 100 Fairy Terns, they are smaller than these gulls, but I did put a cap on and my sunnies,as they were swooping just so close to my face and head. But they never touched. They are only like this when they are nesting of course. #4483996
