Occhio Unplugged

Uploaded: January 30, 2004

Description

This is a photo of my cat Occhio. He is the only cat I have had who doesn't try to put his nose on the lens when the camera comes out. I took this shot just after the Roto Rooter man left--yuck. I hadn't had the time to put the extension cord away, but at least the cat made me smile. The particulars: aperture f/3.5, shutter 1/15 sec. I used a fill flash even though the was plenty of daylight.

Great image Helen! Glad to see you do so well with your very FIRST entry on BetterPhoto - hope to see many more! I wonder how many BetterPhoto members have 'cracked' Monthly Finalist with their very first entry!

I know what you mean about cats not 'staying put' for photographs - I think most at least get up and come towards you, even if they don't try and put their nose on the lens!

How long have you been taking photo's, by the way Helen? It's a great pastime, isn't it?! My husband and I have both enjoyed photography as a hobby since we were quite young... #387458

Sorry Helen...I forgot to tell you what a handsome model Occhio made for this portrait! He/she has the most gorgeous eyes, and was obviously looking STRAIGHT at you when you took the photo! It would make things so much easier taking photographs of animals if they would all sit there and pose like Occhio (sigh!)!! #387477
