Old woman from Dayak Kenyah Tribe

Uploaded: September 13, 2006

Exposure: f/5 @ 1/250 sec
Location: East Kalimantan (Borneo), Indonesia
Lens: Tamron 28-75mm
Note: Flash Canon Speedlite 580EX was bounced into gold reflector.

For women in this tribe, the longer the ears, the higher their social status. They put earings gradually until the ears streched... just an amazing effort from them.

Awesome capture Harjono. The lighting is perfect. Love the character in her face. Are those her ear lobes that are stretched that long to the rings. Can't believe they would stretch that far. Good luck with this shot. Kathy in NH #521383
