I bet that old log would be very valuable to woodworkers Joe. It is great that they have left it to the beetles and other creepy crawlies. Must make a great seat to rest on too and also good for kids to climb and walk along. It seems to have got patterns like the segments of an orange. #520443

Yes Kate I like the patterns and colours on this old log.Now Kate,if Dick Wittington and his cat had walked to London at a much much later era thinking the streets of London were paved with gold,he would have been disapointed to find the streets of London were paved with Jarrah blocks.Much of Londons streets were paved with our famous Jarrah during the 1890s,as also were some streets in larger German cities. These were of course before the days of extensive use of bitumen for roads.I think our Jarrah may still be under the roads of London. As you say Kate,it is very popular with woodworkers and was used extensivly with house building (not generally these days though,as its too expensive). #3302078

That is amazing that they should carry the Jarrah all that way and pave the streets of London. I cannot imagine how they cut it. #3304465
