Ice Henge

Uploaded: January 15, 2004

Description

Ice monoliths on the southeastern shores of Lake Michigan. The whole landscape has been transformed with frozen waves and giant ice chunks piled up in debris heaps by the force of the freeze thaw cycle. This was taken at sunrise, facing west towards Chicago. Tripod mounted, with circular polarizer filter. The colors of the sky were there when I was taking the shot, but weren't readily apparent in the original digicam image. I ran Curves in Photoshop and out popped the colors!
