I'm with Teresa, how did you do this? Obviously you layered two photographs, but how did you get the lighting to change on the child so that it was more golden. Beautiful work, Johannes. Gorgeous! #3199630

Hi Teresa,Tarun,Autum,Chastity. Thank you all for your comments.
This is done in photoshop. The first step is to adjust the skin tone to warmer cast by using "Photo Filter:Warming Filter 81" by 65%. To lower the contrast of the subject, I created a layer with solid black color then masked by the shape of the photo to avoid effecting the background image. Then apply SOFTLIGHT mode (50%). Lastly, I created a circular gradient layer (MULTIPLY mode 100%) to enhance the overall mood. #3199731

Johannes Kornelius August 22, 2006

Thanks William.

Teresa,Autum, here it is the layers view. #3199738

Karolyn R. Moltzan September 14, 2006

It's very convincing, except that I would also try to add a little bit of backlighting, since the sun is right behind her, you might see some real orange-ish glow on her hair coming from behind. #3308472

I am just learning Photoshop CS2. How did you cut her out of the original picture? #3308737

Thanks Mr Sammy.

Missy, I use Primatte 2.0 chromakey, a plugin for photoshop. In order to maximize the extraction, the subject has to be shot against the bluescreen or greenscreen. You can see the tutorial here:

http://www.digitalanarchy.com/primatte/primatte_tutes.html

If you want to try to extract manually in photoshop, see some tutorials here:

Thanks Jo for your kind comments. The editing will be easier with the help of certain chormakey or masking plugin. The most time consuming is creating a new digital background. Once it is ready for use, to compose a new photo and enhance will take about 30-60 minutes. #3629306
