Kent Falls - "Upper falls"

Uploaded: July 05, 2006

Description

These are the "Upper Falls" in Kent, Connecticut. There are several large "cascades" on the way to the lower falls and this is the top-most point of the series of falls. You are looking at about a 50 to 60 foot drop. I used my Canon 28-135mm IS USM lens at f22, with a polarizing filter and aperture priority.

Great work here, Wayne! I love the silky look of the water, and the almost 3D effect you have managed to capture here. #478151

Thanks John. There was a good water flow and ideal overcast conditions. I just set the camera aperture and it did the rest. I did something dumb though; I took custom white balance readings to match the available light and forgot to set my camera to custom white balance. They just built new observation platforms and improved the path and that allowed for some nice shooting angles. I have 3, maybe 4, more pictures along the falls that I will post this week (one for each day). #2989971
