Many thanks for your comments.I was actually about 4 miles away in a cove taking sunset photos when it occurred to me that the angle of the setting sun at this time of year would allow me to place the lighthouse in between me and the sun. So I drove fairly quickly (excuse me)! and arrived just in time to take several photos with different lens and settings.
As I was leaving the car park I spotted a few more photographers making there way to my vantage-point looking a bit green!! They had mist it!
As Diane said above, right place - right time, and you must also have a good appreciation of sun setting speeds and angles!
Yep, it all came together on this one!
