Intimidation

Uploaded: June 26, 2006

Description

This is Packy, the largest Asian Elephant in the US (6.5 tons so not the heaviest, but 10'4"-10'6" at the shoulder, so the tallest). Shot with my 17-40 lens, I'm about 5 feet from him and though there is a fence between the two of us, he could have gotten me if he really wanted to. He's pretty mellow for a bull elephant though, thankfully. :)

Ok, decided to rename it since I'm printing it out and have it named. Might as well keep the same name everywhere. So...it is now "Intimidation" instead of "If you can see my pupils you are too close!". I tend to lean toward comedy, but that often doesn't go over well with art. =)

Thank you, I'm thinking about trying to blow it up pretty big, my sister-in-law collects elephants. Just don't know if people would feel comfortable sitting on a couch with him staring at the backs of their heads. :) #2953378

well, then they do not know art....I don't see it as a bad thing if it hung big...it is a work of art.... and if it scares anyone ...why then...I guess you are evoking an emotion and that is not necessarily a bad thing either....lol #2953988

Debbie, thank you. See, I like that I've got an emotion in the picture and don't mind the intimidation factor. I'm ordering it hopefully at about 36" wide (though obviously will have to crop it top and bottom a bit), so it won't be anywhere near as big as he really is, but should still make for an interesting bit of framed artwork. #2954368

Sue, thank you...I think it is kind of hard to go wrong with these animals. =)

Oh, and I've gone ahead and named it "Intimidation" for the print I'm getting, might as well emphasize the feeling I think it gives off eh? #2954380
