As I stepped out of the coffee shop I could hear music; someone singing not too far from where I was. The song although unfamiliar was some sort of blues. Shakka was sitting on the window sill; tabbing on his rustic guitar with Jon on some kind of drum. I took some pictures and stood there for him to complete the song.
As I was about to start walking I hear the coarse voice 'hey, what are you doing?', I turned around 'yes, what are you doing?'. A bit scared - I went closer.. ' I was taking some pictures'...pushing the glasses up he looked at the 2 inch LCD screen 'Ohhh I like this one' ' I like that one too' .. - 'do you want these?' .. 'yes, can I have them, this one is nice too'...
Shakka moved to Ithaca two summers back from Oregon, his guitar had a sticker of Oregon with number '420' and a picture 'ganja' .. he showed me the picture and started talking about the places he plays, how much he hates the winter
