Description

I need to explain this one. Under a large tree, thousands of golden midges are visible about 4-6 ft. off the ground in the evening. When the sun is setting they appear as dancing points of light. There was not enough light to use a fast shutter, and besides, I wanted a wide aperture. This is a picture at 300mm, f6.3, of the path of one of those midges over 1/6 of a second, carrying a bit of the setting sun with him (or her).
