This would have been outstanding if the tracks weren't so dark!! And mind you, I LOVE dark shots. I might have used a graduated filter on the lens to darken the sky while properly exposing for the tracks. Just my humble opinion. #456526Rachel E. Slepekis June 01, 2006
I like it dark, very dramatic.Cédric Raket June 01, 2006
Actually, knowing that it's a digital picture... you can adjust quite a bit, whatever happens. But my goal was to have this very heavy contrast between the sky and the railway. You can see the original picture here. Notice that with colour you can see way more than on the B&W version. But like Rachel said "each his own". Both are fine I think, just depends what you wanna tell people around you :)
(BTW. There's an annoying flare you can see on the original pic! Kind of fixed with the B&W) #2842866

Both are beautiful, Cedric! #2844694Chris Budny June 26, 2006
Very interesting conversion... dark enough at the rails to be a night shot, but with that telltale sunburst in the clouds... Very nice composition, too! #2954157Katrina McMeans August 10, 2006
Beautiful in B&W, with a very strong mood. #3148186Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
