Don't Bother Me!

Description

Taken May, 2005, Our neighbors recently knocked down a grassy knowl in their backyard. It left quite a bit of earth uncovered and the perfect place for some of the aquatic birds indigenous to the area to hunt for worms and unearthed insects.

This male Snowy Egret was crouching down sunning himself on the warm late evening sun and sand. As I got closer, he became annoyed that I had interrupted his nap and encroached on his new found space. He actually hissed a bit at me, nervously danced about and he seemed to look at me as if to say, "Don't bother me!" Taken with a Sony Cybershot F828 SLR digital, full 14x zoom Zeiss lens, late afternoon sun facing southeast.
