For this vacation to Mexico, I decided to leave the cameras at home. My wife smuggled a P&S along... I'm glad she did!

You left your cameras at home???? What's the matter with you, guy??? Luckily, you have a wise, intelligent wife, or you would be toast!! LOL #70665Bob Fowler October 30, 2003
Yeah Carolyn, but the operative word was VACATION! I spend WAY too much time with a camera plastered in my face or under a focusing cloth. I just wanted to lay on the beach under a palm tree and have people bring me drinks with little umbrellas. We stayed at the Royal Hideaway Resort and Spa at Playa del Carmen - Very nice place, couple only, great food, and best of all NO LITTLE SCREAMING KIDS!
We plan on going back to the Yuccatan to shoot Mayan ruins with a 4X5 and street scenes in Cozumel with 35mm. #250410

I repeat! Your WIFE is wise!! What a fun trip that sounds like!! Take a lot of bug spray! And no fair laying around drinking drinks with little umbrellas! #250440Bob Fowler October 30, 2003
How wise can she be? She married me! :-)
BTW - No little umbrellas were to be had... But I did consume copious quantities of Gin (the nectar of the Gods). hehehe #250582

Point taken! LOL... Well the pictures would have been blurry anyway if taken with gin! #250598Amy C. Nordhausen February 18, 2004
wow -- I freaked out when I saw your picture! We just got back from our honeymoon at the royal hideaway -- great shot! the grounds there are beautiful-- very condusive to great pictures. I took a picture of a palm leaf in the main lobby there and entered it into this month's contest (you can find it under "palm leaf" in a search). what a wonderful place -- we couldn't have picked a better spot to honeymoon! #384914Bob Fowler February 18, 2004
Hi Amy,The Royal Hideaway is great, isn't it? My wife and I spent a week there, complements of her boss, for having survived 25 years at the same job! :-) I want to go back with a 4X5 and/or a 5X7 view camera and use it as a center of operations for photographing the Mayan ruins. Then again, with food like that, I might get too fat to carry a heavy camera around... #385088
