I have a digital camera but I didn't know you could do infrared with it. Do you mind telling me how you did it? Thanks,

Hi Paul:

First you need to check to see if your camera is infrared sensitive. Take a TV remote control and press some buttons as if you were changing the channel. Point the “beam” to the camera lens. Look through the viewfinder on the other side. If the light is bright then you can proceed to the next step.

The filter is a Hoya R72 Infrared Filter or =. Do a search on Google and you find resellers.

Next you need some way of attaching a filter to your digital camera. Depending on the camera, it may have adapters or extension tubes. In the case of my Canon A70, I have a 52mm adapter tube so I can use any standard 35mm camera filter! Needless to say it is very awkward to use this configuration but it’s possible.

That’s about it.

I have to use manual focus for this filter with a tripod. Exposures are usually about f8 at 2-15 seconds
