catlaya orchid taken with E10 in macro mode, F2.8, ASA80, 74mm, 1/250 sec, fill flash – shallow depth of field to soften background. The “queen” was a gorgeous purple classic catlaya.

Thank you both for your comments. The "queen" was another classic catlaya and even more beautiful than this one - but the pictures I took if it didn't work as well as an exmple of the intent of the lesson so I chose this one instead. And I liked the velvet texture. #6414
