Thanks Janet and Cathy for your comments. Cathy, their is a CSM Menu option called Anti-Shock (Number 24). This, when activated, causes the mirror to flip up a second or two before the shutter trips allowing the camera shake to settle before firing the actual shot. It causes a delay in taking the image and if left on can really mess you up if you are trying to take an action shot!
