Peering into the Deep Unknown

Uploaded: March 20, 2006

Description

f/4.4, 1/500sec, macro setting, Honaunau Bay, Hawaii about 15ft below water on a coral head wall at 11am. This little arc-eye hawkfish really made me work for his portrait. Everytime I dove down, he would scurry back into his coral home. Finally I dove down further away and deeper than he was so I could sneak up on him from underneath. Some editing required as is typical with underwater photography.

what a fantastic colorful underwater shot. Don't you just hate it when you really gotta work for your beautiful work. But it is truly worth it all. Very well done! #412211
