Arch support

Uploaded: February 19, 2006

Description

This downy woodpecker was hanging off my dogwood tree, arching backwards to pick off insects that were on the outside of the nesting pocket I had hanging off a nearby limb... That tail HAS to be strong to support the woodpecker like that!

Taken with my Sigma 70-200 EX with 2X converter: 1/800s f/7.1 at 400.0mm iso200.
