I'm trying to figure out how to control my aperture
and shutter speed on my PowerShot SD450.

How did you get all the info about the specs to the above pic? #430268

Dear Harold,

Unfortunately, you can't control the aperture and shutter speed on this little Canon (or so I think). You can, however, find out the information in Canon's Zoombrowser by clicking on the image. Then go to the View menu and down to "show shooting information."

In Adobe, go to the Window menu, then down to Properties. Click on Metadata and you will see all the information. #2664765

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to do an aperture assignment and it's very frustrating to illustrate
differences in depth of field.

Basically, I'm doing things in macro mode and then
in normal mode. The camera wants everything to
be sharp and in focus.

By the way, I love your shots. Especially the boats in the fog. You've got great composition and mastery in your camera modes. I'm inspired to do the same
with my little ol' PowerShot.

Dear Harold,
Thank you so much for the compliments. Although the Canon Powershot is limited, I still love it. I can experiment and not worry about the cost of film. I can also put it in my pocket which for me is a real plus.
As you are finding out, you can't control aperture or shutter speed.
Maybe in a few years I'll move up to one with all the bells and whistles, but for now I am content. Good luck. #2673980
