Description

“Solar Eclipse Partial Sequences” is the title for this photo, taken during the Solar Eclipse at Newport, Vermont, on April 8th, 2024, over a two-hour period (2:15:54 pm to 4:38:06 pm EDT). In the image ten (10) shots in sequence are overlayed showing eclipse phases occurring in order, starting and ending with four (4) partial eclipses, which were taken with a 60-600mm Sigma Lens mounted on a Canon camera with a Hydrogen Alpha filter attached inside. If one looks carefully, even in this web photo one can see Sunspots on some of the partial eclipses. Also notice, because the path of the moon is Elliptical in orbit the entrance and exit points of the Diamond Ring during Totality are not mirrored in the combined overlays. Entered in the Elements of Design category (April 2024).
