Thanks everyone for the kind words and concerned comments on yesterday's image! We were visiting Mount Shasta in Northern California last week; we're now back in San Francisco. The smoke from all the fires has now reached the Bay Area with shifting winds, but it's far less extreme than it is in other parts of the state. Today's image is from another brief outing up in Mount Shasta last week, this one to the small but lush Elsa Rupp Nature Preserve.
