Freezing Soap Bubbles

Description

It has to be around 13 degrees or colder to get this to work. Also it has to be a calm day, no wind... Mix dish soap, Karo syrup, some sugar and hot water together and let the sugars melt and blend . Refrigerate it for a couple of hours. Set yourself up in a sheltered spot and start trying to blow bubbles with a straw, or bubble wand. The colder it is, the better it works. You will see crystals start to form, start taking pictures. I used my 100 mm macro lens. Topaz Clarify, Adjust and NIK ND filters. Before and After cateory 02/09/2021

LOVE THIS, Jill!! Your edits are beautiful. But the image itself is superb! A frozen bubble is on my "bucket list" of photography images I hope to achieve. :) #1756269

Beautiful image, Jill! I'll let you do those as I hope I'm not outside if the temp gets down to 13. ;) #11875089

Nice shot Jill. Thanks for your technique description. I've tried this before but all the bubbles popped as they landed. I didn't refrigerate the solution for awhile though. Do you have the bubbles land in snow? The temp here will not get above zero for awhile, I should try again. #11875269
