Description

Ellis Island is a federally owned island in New York harbor which once was the country's largest immigration inspection station. Between 1892 and 1924 approximately 12 million immigrants were processed there. The buildings you see behind Ellis Island are, in fact, across the Hudson River in Jersey City, New Jersey. The tallest is the 79 story Goldman Sachs Tower, the tallest building in New Jersey.
