Windmills and canals

Uploaded: July 26, 2020 | Entered: July 26, 2020 14:46:49

The Netherlands used to have 10.000 windmills. But when the windmills found themselves in competition with steam and later diesel and electricity, they gradually disappeared from the Dutch landscape. Nowadays around 1,200 of them are still standing and most of them still work. These in front of you are 300 years old. The Netherland canals are also man-made. For as long as the Dutch have been pumping water out of the lands in Holland, they have been building canals for travel, irrigation, and water removal. PS CC, Topaz textures.
