These formidable predators can turn their heads 180 degrees to scan their surroundings with two compound eyes and three simple eyes located between them. Unfortunate recipients are moths, crickets, grasshoppers, flies and even their own kind. The adult female sometimes eats her mate just after or even during mating. Their life span is one year and they grow to .5 to 6 inches long.
