Tunnel of Eupalinos (Eupalinian aqueduct)

Description

The tunnel was built ca. 6th century BC under a mountain by starting to dig, simultaneously, from two opposite portals to be used for carrying water to the city of Samos. Length 1036 mt or 3399 ft. The project was realized by engineer and mathematician Eupalinos.
