Lingering Spring

Mountain runoff and lingering spring flowers at Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite National Park. This valley, a twin to Yosemite Valley to the south, was claimed by San Francisco to create a reservoir for its residents. Many argue that the valley should be restored to its former state, but on this, my first visit, I was struck by a quiet beauty unspoiled by scores of human visitors. Perhaps it is better to keep it this way.
