Description

In an apron pocket I imagined my grandmother to carry this 1945 Telegram. It is from my father to let her know he was safe in his travels. It's strange now to imagine how difficult it was to reach someone far away & how long a mother may have to wait to get a message of relief. The radio is a 1934 Philco my uncle gave to me when I was 8 years old & the radio was a relic when I got it. I cleaned off some dust to take this photo & I listened to a night time program from NY. Unbelievable that it still works considering the wiring & old tubes in the back. I haven't listened to an a m radio station in years! The coolest thing about it is the sounds it makes while tuning in a station:) Settings: F4 3.20 sec iso 100 @24mm exp bias -1.00 Edited in Topaz to give an aged effect.
