Description

'My Desk' was an old piece when my father inherited it in 1959. I have seen many desks but never one as unique as this one. It has countless nicks, scratches, gouches & cracks & I love them all. As a child I remember my father studying at the desk when he was working to advance his formal 5th grade education which ended back in 1931 in WV. He was an avid reader w/ a great memory & sometimes sarcastic humor. This desk always held boxes w/photos, checks, playing cards, a pocket Bible, Kingdom Ministry's, letters & paper keepsakes of all kinds. It was typical to find small pieces of paper w/ numbers written down & only my dad knew what they meant. He seldom wrote anything except to my mother in the 1960's. They began w/ 'My Dearest' & ended w/ 'I love you always, Paul'. (Photo 1960's)
