Description

On my recent trip to Myanmar we visited a remote village where, at one time, the girls' faces were tattooed. This elegant, warm, and dignified woman explained the procedure to us. She was ten and it was extremely painful. We saw only three women in their 70's who had the tattoos, so they stopped this practice many years ago, thank goodness. The people in this village were so welcoming and friendly - it was a highlight of the trip. Category: People
