Description

Submitted for the PG101 Puzzle Box Cover theme
Last spring Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha hosted an amazing, unusual, and beautiful educational sculpture exhibit. Art was installed throughout the indoor areas, placed among the plants already growing in the conservatory and atrium. All the art was made entirely from reclaimed plastic; the overall theme was water and the life in it (both plant and animal). This dolphin is the sculpture, the background is fronds on a living palm tree; for some reason, in the photo the blue-green fronds had a light aqua cast, so I re-colored the brown area on the trunk and filled in the white "sky" with aqua, too. Also scattered throughout the buildings were signs and posters containing facts about the huge ecological problem plastics have become. For a few weeks, the center was open in the evenings so the art could be enjoyed under special lighting.

Exif: F Number: 2.8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/250 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 1000, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 50.00 mm, Model: ILCA-77M2

That's beautiful work! The dolphin might be easy, but the rest would make me crazy!!

I'm impressed, both by the scope of the educational exhibit, by this particular piece, and by your very cool handling of it. I do think that, if I were choosing a puzzle to work with, I'd certainly pick this one up to take a look. #11745491

The dolphin is beautiful, and I think the surrounding foliage would be difficult to put together. #11745498

Creative! Yeah, this would be a hard one! #11745517
