Description

Short-eared Owl. I was commissioned by local Mexican biologists to get this shot. They had discovered several of these beauties nesting on some brushy dunes on Punta Estero (near Ensenada, MX), but had been unsuccessful getting a photo. Living only minutes from the area, I made only two visits and got lucky the second trip. I happened upon their nesting area and 6 owls flew up within 15-20 ft in front of me. Exciting! This owl circled me just long enough to get a few images.
