Description

I wasn't familiar with this bird when I took the photo. But I got it ID'ed, and it is a Clapper Rail, which isn't endangered as of yet, but is on the decline, mainly because of their habitat being disturbed by humans moving in closer to their habitat. I shot this handheld, Canon 7D Mark II, Canon 100-400mm L lens at 400mm, f8, 1/640, ISO 160 with polarizing filter on because of the harsh light around 3:30 in the afternoon. I took this in Huntington Beach State Park, Murrells Inlet, SC a few weeks ago.

Thank you, Nancy. We are inland, so hoping by the time it gets to us it won't be too bad. The ones on the coast have been told to evacuate. <>< #11724835
