My goal this week was to capture a still life image with a shallow depth of field. I kept the single flower in the foreground the subject with the vase of flowers blurred. A secondary goal was to add some interesting bokeh to the background. My setup included some lace curtains in front of a greenish background. Next I added some small lights behind the lace curtains. I used ambient daylight bulbs in the room as well as two clamp lights with 100 watt daylight bulbs to whiten the lace. I would have preferred the lights under the lace to be whiter not yellowish. Using a 1.4 Canon lens my settings were : F1.8 1/80 iso 100 @ 50mm. I still had to brighten the image in Topaz. "> My goal this week was to capture a still life image with a shallow depth of field.
